    Lion is New Zealand’s largest alcohol beverage company. Our focus is on the production, marketing, sales and distribution of beer, wine, spirits, cider and ready-to-drink products, as well as a range of non-alcohol beverages.

    Lion makes a significant contribution to New Zealand’s economy generating about $818m?worth of economic activity for the country and employing over 1,000 people directly. Indirectly, Lion’s operations create employment for close to 3,500 Kiwis.

    We are one of New Zealand’s largest purchasers of agricultural products buying approximately $96m worth of inputs from New Zealand farmers each year. We are an integral part of the retail and hospitality industries, and own and operate 39 Liquor King retail alcohol stores throughout New Zealand.

    Our beverage portfolio includes New Zealand’s best-loved brands including Speight’s, Steinlager, Mac’s, Emerson’s, Stella Artois and Corona.? We are the second largest wine company in the country with an enviable portfolio of wine brands including Wither Hills, Morton?

    Estate, Lindauer, Te Hana, Huntaway and Saints. ?We also proudly distribute?the most popular spirits brands in almost every category including Smirnoff, Baileys, Bacardi, Johnnie Walker and?Appleton Estate.

    Our success in New Zealand demonstrates our commitment to championing brands that consumers?adore, working with our customers to ensure they always have the brands that people want, when they want them, and ensuring that we have the systems and processes in place to consistently provide products that people keep coming back for.

    As New Zealand’s largest alcohol beverages company, we recognise our business exists within the community, not outside it. It is our responsibility to preserve the natural resources our business relies on for current and future generations and to encourage the healthy and responsible enjoyment of our products. We contribute about $4 million a year to the Government’s moderation programme through the Health Promotion Agency and we spearheaded the introduction of an industry-led consumer education programme to encourage sociable and safe drinking, called Cheers!
